This was a thing I saw in a dream I had a fairly long time ago that I remember vividly. I related the dream to a friend, and here's what I wrote:
This one was rather strange. And it scared me shitless. So it started out with me sitting in pitch blackness on a reddish-gray couch. There was a television on the other end of the couch, and behind me (next to the couch's arm) was a small but thick book on an end-table. Occasionally, the blackness would dissipate, and I would be in my old room in my old house, or outside next to a metal, rusting barrel. I picked up the book, sitting across from the TV, and began to read it. It was filled with staticy looking symbols and words just started to come out of my mouth even though I didn't actually know anything in the book. And as I said the things in it, images appeared on the television. The screen of the TV was small and extremely staticy. The words that appeared sometimes were long and flowing but I couldn't read them. Monsters and things started to show up, the more I held the book open. Now I didn't even have to say what was in it, all I had to do was turn pages to see things on the TV. So I finally slammed the book shut, and the screen wiped itself and two red buttons appeared on the screen, the way they would on a touch-screen computer. Basically, it was like telling me to push one of the buttons. I didn't, though, because I woke up. I woke up with my heart racing and I was terrified. I don't really remember any of the monsters I saw except for one near the end that looked like a bird's skull with skin wrapped around it.
This was as best as I could depict the bird from the dream without the staticy background. __________ July 13, '09
I haven't had a scary dream in 3 months, and before that it hadn't been since a year. O_O I mean, real nightmares. Not the waking up in the middle of the night screaming because you dreamed there was a spider crawling across the covers. -_-;

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
